Hello!

My name is Elaine, and I'm a student at The University of Chicago studying Computer Science and East Asian Languages and Civilizations.

I have a passion for finding creative and effective solutions to complex problems. I love combining my design-oriented background with my technical knowledge to build thoughtful, intuitive products and remedy user pain-points.

My years of design experience have taught me how to empathize with users and apply that understanding to my work — with very little support and data, I've designed websites with thousands of pageviews per day and print magazines with hundreds of readers. On the flip side, my technical expertise equips me with insight into how to make ideas and designs into a reality.

I'm someone who can't sit still — always looking for new inspiration and new challenges, I'm driven by my curiosity for how products work and how to replicate (and further expand) their success.

In my free time, I like to tend to my plants and do my best to not kill them. When I'm not entertaining my two cats, I like to pursue home improvement and do-it-yourself projects — most recently, I've been learning how to sew and knit. I'm also an avid language learner, working on my fourth language! However, I likely spend most of my time (free or not) reading webtoons :)
